Kyle and Friends Chefs Dinner: Feeding Friendships in the Community

Executive Chef Kyle McKnight has invited his friends – who are coincidentally some of the best chefs in the Southeast – back to Hickory for his annual Kyle and Friends Chefs Dinner.

Imagine an evening around the table with this culinary roster: Jameson Chavez, James Doss and Rebecca Alvarado Paredes from Wilmington; Jason Smith from Raleigh; Todd Woods from Asheville; Steve Sharp from Atlanta; Anthony Gray from Greenville; Chris Edwards from Middleburg, Virginia; and Highland Avenue’s new Sous Chef, Sam Stachon. The event starts with a cocktail hour and hors d’oeuvres at The Crossing and culminates with a dinner to remember at Highland Avenue. The best part of hanging out with Kyle and Friends? Proceeds from the evening will benefit the Hickory Soup Kitchen. Now that’s food for the soul.

Doors open at 6pm. Tickets are $125 per person. For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit: www.highlandavenuerestaurant.com

Blind Pig Dinner

Blind Pig Dinner –  Location TBD the day of the event Proceeds Benefit the Jamie Kirk Hahn Foundation.

Three years ago in a 100 year old Appalachian dairy barn and in the dead of a January winter, two chefs set out to create a masterpiece Japanese dinner which was called The Rising Sun.  Twelve courses of traditional and innovative Japanese cuisine are represented.  The dinner went down in our history books as one of the most successful and influential dinners in Asheville.  Today, these chefs, Drew Maykuth and Brian Canipelli, will reunite again with a host of chefs from across this great state to bring the magic of the Rising Sun to Raleigh for the first time.  A grand dinner for a great cause.

Chefs include:

Jason Smith, 18 Restaurant Group – 18 Seaboard, Cantina 18 & Harvest 18

Scott Crawford, Standard Foods

Kyle McKnight, Highland Avenue

Brian Canipelli, Cucina 24

Drew Maykuth, Stanbury
